This course will give students the essential skills to protect themselves in the clinical area in line with national standards.
Who is this course for? This course is for people working in the healthcare and nursing areas, or any profession where infection control and management of it is required.
Course Topics:
- Overview of infection control.
- Introduction on Covid 19
- Infection prevention and control.
- Hand hygiene, including a practical session for each participant.
- Waste management and decontamination issues.
- Different types of Personal Protection Equipment. Donning and Doffing of PPE
- Needle-stick injuries or any occupational health injury/accident.
Method of Delivery: This course is facilitated by a trainer who will use a PowerPoint presentation as well as video examples to guide participants through the course.
Duration: 4 hours.
Assessment: Participants will be evaluated on the practical skills demonstrated during the course along with a written assessment.
Certification: Upon successful completion of this course participants will be issued with a certificate valid for 2 years.
